This is rather an introspective note. I lost another old friend this morning, Barbara Utterback Campbell. As with Susie Cline Wise, we had known each other from third grade. Both women were good and sweet people, devoted to their families and to their faith.
Barb had ovarian cancer ten years ago and it was in remission until this last year when it came back in other places. I know the treatment for this cancer had been very hard on her - both times. Barb and I had been corresponding and I know she was a very private person concerning her illness and tried to put on a positive face for others. I had talked to her twin brother, Mike, last week and he knew it was a tough battle. Things turned for the worse a few days ago.
It's hard to loose old friends and it must be very difficult for Barb's family. Just sad.
