It's Spring

What a nice welcome to Spring with temperatures getting up to 73 degrees.   Took a walk and marveled (as always) on things coming up in spite of it not quite being warm for any extended time.  Suppose to have a storm tonight and dark clouds are moving in but we still enjoyed today's weather.

Our water heater died and we will go find a new one tomorrow.  We did cost estimates today in hopes of finding something that not only doesn't cost so much but will cost less in energy bills.  The tankless propane fits the later part - up front cost will be higher.  Plus, several important things will have to be changed to fit it right.  We'll see what we come up with.  Heating water for a bath is a memory I'd just as soon not experience too many times.  Now all I have to do is put a washtub in the middle of the kitchen and I'm 3 years old again.

Getting the old water heater out will be a trick.  It is lined in brick and 50 gal.  May have to ask for relative muscle!

Here are two more of my "bubble series" paintings I've been doing lately.  Not my normal style but they've been fun.

Mark the "to do list":  plant crocus this fall.  All the ones out back have gone away and I only have one little one blooming out front.  Did plant a bunch of daffodils so looking forward to those and the other spring bulbs in the next month.

Stayed home from church because of the water problems this morning.  Gracie is quite sick this week and she also stayed home.  We had two other couples at Bible Study last night and I cooked corned beef for supper.  Had boiled potatoes and carrots, fried cabbage, fruit salad and Patti brought three kinds of bread (Irish soda bread - potato fard - wheat buns) and Pat brought two made from scratch coconut cream and rhubarb/strawberry pies.  It was all good even if I did have to break out washing everything by hand (when did I get so spoiled - oh yeah about the time I got the dishwasher.)

Let's hope and pray for a nice summer for us all!
