Been raining a lot this evening but considering the almost 60 degree temps today, I'm not complaining. Had all the doors open until late this afternoon. Spring is slowing starting. Meanwhile, they are predicting another blizzard early next week. Grace is staying overnight tonight. She's playing paper (magnetic) dolls.
When Marge decided to liquidate her accumulated quantities of fabric (from the millions of custom window treatments she created over the years), she let me take A LOT. I've used this and that through the years and now I'm making wine sacks. They're an upscale version of wrapping paper for the person who buys a bottle of wine and wants an easy way to gift it to someone. Simply buy the wine sack and it's ready to go.

This is the store obviously prior to her renting and the stuff being removed. It's a nice space and already in decent shape. It's in an old art deco building and this part was formerly Brown's Shoes. The young man who owns the building, lives in the back apartment and is remodeling the upstairs to be a dance/music place (with no alcohol served). His entry is to the left of the bottom picture. That door opening between the two is being closed.
This alley has been refurbished by the city to be a modern pedestrian walk and is pretty nice looking. It is right off the downtown circle. With she and Paul's creative talents, I'm sure it will be very nice.
Trent, Julie and Kate just got back from MO only to find someone had been in the house and taken the external hard drive and a Kindle. Not just the money of the theft but he had lots of photos on the hard drive that can't be replaced. Sad for them.
Jerry's very involved with the upcoming American Legion Texas Hold'em tourney. It's the first time they've had one and it means starting from scratch. He's enjoying the whole thing and it's good for him to be able to help. As with most volunteer groups, a few do most of the work and they were more than happy to have an experienced and eager addition to the ranks.
I presented a portion of the program at my Monday PEO meeting. It was three of us that live in old houses. I talked & showed photos of the process to renovate: from horrible to today. Another lives in a farm home designed by her mother-in-law including the original drawings. Another has a home that was in her husband's family for generations and all the historical and family things she found in the attic plus they hosted Billy Sunday and documented the stay.
Angie and Steve lost one of their little dogs, Flower Child, this week. A sad time for them. Grandma (Marge) was interviewed on TV at a pancake benefit to help children. Jerry's playing cards with "the guys" tonight.
And now, Grace and I are going to have milk and Girl Scout Cookies while watching Frosty the Snowman for the fourteenth zillion time.
