Creativity

I took this picture one morning at sunrise when the light was peaking through an arbor. It looked like the statue was holding a light. One of those times when it's good to have a camera close.

Since the Editor of the Galva News doesn't want to put my "For the Love of Gardening" articles on their website, I decided to set up a blog by the same name. He's trying not to put much on the web page because he feels it causes sales to drop. Whether I or the industry agrees or not, I decided this would be fun for a few folks that have asked to read them (not exactly thousands begging but anyway...) Folks that don't live close enough to buy and don't want a subscription. I also get to post some of my pictures that go well with the stories.

I was able to copy over to the blog all the previously published stories. Even though I write most articles ahead of time, I won't put on the blog until after they are published. I will, however, be adding some "in between" articles that will never hit the paper. Some gardening things you just can't publish several weeks after they happen and still have it interesting. Since my article only publishes every other week and I have to have them submitted several days before publishing - they are about of three weeks old. For time sensitive topics, they'll just go on the blog.

So far, it isn't the huge snow storm warning has proved unnecessary. We had rain, then icy sleet, then ice/snow globs that were huge. It was enough to freeze on everything. The local radar site is out right now - hummm - and I see some other places had about an inch of snow but not us. They are still saying we will get this heavy snow before morning. Right now the wind has picked up and it's sleeting again.

We were going out tonight to celebrate Jerry's 61st birthday but decided to just stay inside. I'm assuming tomorrow will be more of the same so we expect a quiet day plus a pot of chili he requested.
