Hot in spite of the cold

Although I watched him Long Jump (which used to be called the "Hop - Skip & Jump Event" I didn't stay for the final tally. I had peaked on my standing in the cold tolerance. Don's hair in this shot is not from the jump, it's the wind hitting him. Didn't seem to affect his performance though.

Don had a great day at the Lincoln Trail meet and came home with some medals. Don's a sophomore and this was a Freshman through Senior meet. He place 4th in the shot which is pretty darn good.
He also participated in the 100m. Don takes a casual attitude, does his best, encourages and is friendly to others in the events. Glad he is doing so well and glad I made it to watch.
It was 54 degrees, the wind was gale mph and in spite of numerous layers of clothing, Marla and I about froze. As one parent said, "It's more like football weather."
