Kane going to State

Kane and one of his fans, Grandma, at track meet. Kane did really well at the Saturday meet and has qualified to go to the Jr. High track meet for State in several events. He was first in the high jump! And yes, he's that much taller than me.

Some kids do really well because they work hard at a sport; some kids have so much natural ability in a sport they simply just have to participate. Kane seems to be the latter - not to say he doesn't try, it just seems he tries and it works easily. Of course it's so much easier for me to say it's easy for him since I'm the one holding the camera NOT the one jumping.

I've seen all the local grandchildren participate in their sports except Max and I'm hoping to see him playing baseball soon. He has a game close (he's on a traveling team and most of his traveling is farther away from here) tomorrow if the weather holds. Kate and Don both ended their meets doing well and Don should be moving on also. All the local grand kids are sophomores or younger so they will have some really good years ahead in sports if they choose. Many more years of watching them.
