Little Miss Cheezy

Grace stayed all night Friday evening and was her usual sweet and entertaining. The "slow motion thrill" was when she was sitting on the computer room window seat, jumped up and slammed herself into the screen. The result is she
rode the screen down into the mulched garden three foot below. I'm not sure which one of us was more startled or frightened. The good news was she sustained no injuries, except perhaps a pride issue. Due to the loads of rain and heavy mulch (which probably helped cushion) she was covered in soggy wood chips. After a bubble bath, loving her up and ice cream, she rallied. She also needed to see Daddy so we invaded the guys for awhile. I tried to stress a life lesson to never hit a screen again...
Sunday morning, we played outside. She collects rocks, puts them on the porch railing and is sure they will grow when rained upon. Certainly would be cheaper than calling Bell Trucking for a load. A butterfly landed on her arm and freaked her out. She was sure it had hurt her. I explained butterflies just like to sit on her arm because she is so sweet and they don't bite. She believed that as much as she believes the dogs are nice when they head towards her.
Today is beautiful, windows open, Jerry got the yard mowed and is watching the race. Just had another tomato sandwich. Only one plant (the one I got in the ground before vacations) has any ripe ones. It has med. sized and really meaty/juicy ones. Hope the others step it up a bit or they'll freeze before producing much. Pepper plants are still doing pretty much zilch - 4 plants - one small green bell pepper so far.
Lots of gourds. Between the rain and cow manure, they are growing about a foot a day - crazy. Katie Sue once wanted to set up a stand at home and sell my gourds - I suppose her being a teen this year will eliminate that option.
