The Week in Retrospect

Pretty view of the many phlox blooming in the yard. Since they self seed, it's always interesting where they will pop up.

The Week in Retrospect is a recap of many things of not particularly interesting to anyone but us. Bare or bear with me...

After almost a month of being totally inert, I sat down Sunday and got organized and got busy. I can easily become reclusive and although I enjoy visiting and doing, I must make myself.

Supper (Mexican) with the IP Ladies Tuesday evening, lunch with Ladies Who Lunch at Johnson's Park (salad), lunch with friend Becky tomorrow at the Bishop Hill Bakery (soup). Fortunately, Jerry and I have started walking and I've begun to do muscle training again. So due -overdue.

The walking has come at a good time since it's been so very beautiful and the weather has been perfect. Allergies are still bothering me but I take my OTC drugs, carry a hanky and soldier on.

Tuesday I visited neighbor Ev Troline. She had called to offer a start of an iris (from her mother's yard) that she thought might be what I had referred to in an article I had written. So very thoughtful and kind of her to think of me and offer. We did get some time to talk about our kids lives (Ron and Sue were best friends in school). Good people.

Got a club project ready to go - planted a dozen new daylilies (and the iris clump), weeded a bit, and have started eating fresh tomatoes every day. Jerry got the two outside doors realigned and weathered in better and installed a new window in the garage.

Some other running around & doing but all-in-all been as busy as we wanted and I'm on the 1st step of my twelve step become involved in humanity again program. Although I did rather enjoy my escape into continuous reading and sluggery.
