I wanted to get some "business attire" from Freedom House's Upscale/Resale shop to show the women in my "how to get a job" class what to wear for interviewing. I'll have this class next Tuesday and call it "What Not To Wear" as a take off on the popular TV program.
The residents get coupons for free items at the shop by doing certain tasks while in-house. I'll use the outfits to show good interview outfits but also that decent clothes for interviews can be obtained inexpensive or in this case probably free.
Everything I do in this class has to be in third person or using myself as an example. Because these women have recently been victims of domestic or/and sexual abuse, they have fragile self esteem and self worth. I decided not to critique anything they do unless it's something they specifically ask. Even at that, I have to walk very softly and phrase gently and to encourage.
Today, after loading up some things we wanted to donate to the resale shop, we first had lunch in Sheffield at ZBest Cafe. BLT with basil tomato pesto and homemade potato chips. Yum. Next to Spring Valley where the resale shop is holding a raffle/sale of decorated Christmas trees. And, they are having this huge bake sale - mostly Christmas cookies and candies.
We came back through Princeton where we Christmas shopped. Jerry had only two others to play cards tonight. Trent, Randy and Mark were hunting in MO and Ian was home matching throw ups with Gracie.
