Wonder Week

"J" taking a nap after catching a mole for us.
"Bitsey" exploring this first year of being let out of the house for an occasional adventure. Doesn't take her long to come crying to get back inside as something has scared her. I took her for her annual shots Monday.

I gave both dogs a bath yesterday, nail trimmed and all their bedding cleaned. Such a big job and absolutely no fun. They both enjoy the attention and they certainly smell better.

We've turned on high gear to get things ready for Jerry's family retirement party and family that will be staying with us. I got the garage cleaned yesterday (no we are not putting up family in the garage - it was just a place to start and NEEDED cleaned). The stinky dogs - clean garage all ties together.
Jerry worked in his shed. Max will be coming out this weekend to give us a help - the list is growing.
Trying to cook things that I can freeze and eliminate the need for last minute work. So much more fun to sit and visit with family. We'll have hamburgers on Jerry's new grill - hot dogs to roast, Marla is bringing a salad, Keitra deviled eggs and potato salad, hoping Trent brings one of his snacky dishes. Have frozen Waldorf salad in the freezer and a Gibson apricot cake. We hope to have sweet corn on the Cob. Have chocolate chip cookies dough ready to be baked.
So far those who have replied they are coming: Angie, Lyle and Ashley (Steve maybe). Trent, Julie and Kate. Ian, Marla, Don (and a friend), Kane, and Gracie. Keitra, Phil and Bradley. Megan (not Tim). Max (not Sue and Paul). Carmin, David, Ivey, Jamie and Nick are coming. Be sure and be here and ready by at least 1:30 Saturday so we can be set up for the professional photographer. He's costing us money so we don't want to keep him waiting.
We may have others drop by for the cookout: Randy and Candy Engles, Greg and Karen Engles, Amanda and Mark Porsch (Jerry's poker guys). Al and Shelly DeCrane and Jack and Pat Gregory both guy friends of Jerry. Jim DeCrane and Jennifer - our next door neighbors.
Today, we start cleaning the house - bedrooms first. I noticed humidity was over 90% this morning - may have to turn on the air. Oh, and I have the first tomatoes out of our garden - Wowzer are they wonderful. Really juicy and so far no issues or diseases.
