Went to Sunday School and Church yesterday. Gracie enjoyed herself as always. She must have her own song book which she follows by moving her finger among the text. Missed our Friday night but she wasn't feeling all that good. Seems to have it whipped for another week.
We had a sub preacher and he was good. A retired fellow and his wife who help churches out when their minister is unexpectedly gone. The Millers daughter in TX had emergency surgery but is doing well.
Sunday evening we went to the Congo church in Toulon's Up Close and Personal concert featuring the Booth Brothers. Great evening of song and ministry. http://www.firstcongregationaltoulon.org/ for their future concerts. We've been to hear Ivan Parker and the Keyboard Concerts at the church and hope to get there again. Their music concerts encompass the local keyboard group (Mike Stahl plays the huge church pipe organ and is on the Freedom House Board), Southern Gospel and contemporary groups like Two Cent Offering. A Blessing for this area.
Afterwards, we stopped by Pat and Dave Turner's home (Pat used to own Posies and Pies) for a late light supper and conversation that included friends, Bud and Becky McKirgin. Pat is a "collector" and their home is packed with her many things. Most are old dishes and home type items. I HAVE found someone to take those many extra things I found hard to throw away. Always seems more right when you know it benefits someone who will love them, too. A nice evening all around.
Today looks to be snow and freezing rain mixed with a lot of wind and cold. Not my favorite kind of winter day but certainly typical of January. I'm finding it hard to get inspired to be productive.
Tomorrow, assuming the weather permits, we have two groups coming to start the process on having broken things fixed. Our big picture window has a seal leak and is fogging and my new cooktop has a place where the surface is flaking off. I have already sent a pair of broken earrings, that were a gift from Jerry, back for replacement. Sundance was most friendly and if I send them back they will replace - done and thank you. Hope the bigger ticket companies have as good of customer service as the little one.
I got my dentist and optometrist appointments scheduled, stuff ready to work on taxes and most of my files cleaned. I'm not organized - just stopped procrastinating.
