Beautiful Weekend

Images: All pictures are from our woods.
The close-up shows water was still moving pretty swiftly from Northwest to East. (Shooting the rapids! - mini style)
The other "river view" is a stream that has formed this spring. Although the natural flow has always been evident in the spring or during heavy rains, it has never cut out an actual stream bed. This is about 5-8 inches deep and the water has been continually moving.
We have several run off sources and they all converge on the east fence, into the field and finally down to the driveway, ditch and over the road to the Edwards Drainage Ditch.

When we bought this property in 1996, it was also a wet year but never like this before. In 1997, we got stuck several times. This year I'm simply not mowing anything muddy. Jerry got stuck twice last weekend trying to take brush out back.

Anyway - it's no big deal to us. Although it may start to be a big deal to farmers if they don't get into the fields to plant soon.

I decided to take a walk yesterday with my camera and saw a cardinal flying from some brush. They have always lived out back in the brush piles made from multi flora rose bushes. I found the nest and it has four sky blue eggs with purple spots. My picture isn't the greatest but it was hard to get close with all the branches and thorns. Exactly why they build in those bushes.

The tulips are blooming everywhere and it is really moving into everything spring fast.
