Packin'

Sue, Max and I packed and moved stuff yesterday. It went pretty good and a major portion of everything but necessaries and furniture are out of the main floor and some of the basement packed and moved.

I'm sure Sue's way of decorating and arranging helped sell her house so fast. It's looks so bare now. She's giving away, selling, storing, and moving. Plus, they are trying to get Paul's home ready for the move-in. Max's room needs painting and that won't be a small job. Lot's of wood and suspended ceiling - both taking primer and multiple coats. It will be a really cool guy room when it's done.

Today is another beautiful day - feels like fall with the mild (low 80s) temps and beautiful skies. I think I'll play outside! Speaking of outside, there is a strangely funny thing that happened where the bare soil lays from the foundation construction. Even though the soil was removed, dumped and then filled, there is a canna lily coming up. I haven't had cannas in at least five years and they "must" be dug every fall and stored over winter. The last year I had them, every one I had dug went bad in the basement so that was the end of my canna beds. This little guy must have been hiding and waiting for the soil to be turned - who knows. I'm sure it won't get big enough to bloom before it frosts but still kinda fun to see an odd nature trick.
