Christmas Music

FM station 96 in the QC (or 96.1 here) is now continually playing Christmas music.

I've printed off the words to Frosty the Snowman so when Gracie wants to hear the story, read the book and have me sing the song, I'll not have to improvise and repeat. Not that she cares apparently, because we sing it over and over until I finally give out and stop. There's a reason some songs become popular - kids love them.

Do you remember who made the Frosty song famous in the movie? Jimmy Durante. The story was born in 1950. The book I have was printed in 1980 - must have been Ian's.

I've a new Christmas CD, I know crazy Christmas CD lady, called: "O Holy Night" by David Phelps. Phelps has an amazing tenor voice with a range that is off the charts. It's really a beautiful group of songs, many written and composed by Phelps. My favorite Christmas CD still is Johnny Mathis' "50th Anniversary Christmas Celebration." Other good ones are Harry Connick, Jr. "When My Heart Finds Christmas", "Saxophone Christmas" by various artists, and my surprise good one last year, "Christmas Island" by Leon Redbone.

Gettin' in the mood!
