How 'bout dem Colts.

OK, no one here understands how sports crazy they are in Indiana. No one understands why coaches deliberately get technicals. No one understands going to high school games the rest of your life and packing the bleachers every single game. No one understands yelling all during a game, even when you're way past school age. No one understands every single kid in high school that isn't on the team being in the cheer block and screaming cheers. No one here understands caravans of parents in cars, trucks, and vans going to important games - making a plan to do so. No one here understands going to games even when the roads have been officially closed because of snow and the school bus beats you there. No one understands a coach throwing a chair - ok, that's when he went from great coach to crazy bugger... And no one - absolutely no one here would understand Heidi's Blog statement below - unless you're from Indiana.

Heidi Shenk writes:
"A letter came home from school with all of our kids today, declaring the Monday after the Super Bowl as an official day off of school in honor of the Colts. This day was declared by the Archbishop for all of the Catholic schools in the Indianapolis Archdiocese! Apparently, the Colts are quite positive role models and supporters of the community and the Archbishop wants to give everyone the opportunity to show support during the Super Bowl without having to worry about going to school the next day. Wow! The kids are thrilled, of course, until Good Friday, when they will be in school, making up for this day off."

I sometimes miss Indiana!
