Roadtrip

This is an old (1700s) cemetery in Savannah GA. Quite a beautiful place with lots of Civil War stories connected. These people use "General Sherman" as a swear word. Beautiful historic town that has many things to do and see. Took a trolley ride and walked for miles.

This is an instant water fall in downtown Nashville caused by roadway run-off. It was bumper to bumper at 10 mph. At times it was difficult to see anything.

This a coming into Mount Eagle, always a pretty drive but usually gets a bit scary with weather related issues. This time - both ways - no problems!

This is the little boat we bought while in Savannah. OK, not ours but there were always several of these privately owned big girls tied up at the dock. This is the 2nd largest shipping port in the US. Over 130,000 people work in related shipping industry here. I took this picture from the Ferry we were riding.

This is at St. Simons Island GA with my sister-in-law, Karyl Peterson. Always great to spend time with her and her sons, Curt and Darin. We were able to catch part of a benefit Darin's band (DATM) played. We stayed at Darin's condo, visited Karyl's new home, and spent time with Curt, too. Karyl entertained great as she always does and in spite of a raging cold descending on her. Never get to see them enough and was so glad we had this time.

Weather Incidents: We had our first "weather incident" on the interstate in Nashville (picture above.) Our second "weather incident" was on the way from Leesburg to Kennesaw where we found ourselves in the middle of a hail storm. So far almost $2,000 in car damage. Coming back Memorial Day we stayed away from interstate highways until it was the only straight shot home. And then, our third weather incident: Heavy downpours and stop and heavy downpours and stop over and over. Lots of stopping for construction zones and accidents. The good news, we were not in any accidents nor had to avoid anything close to being involved in an accident. Blessings.
Georgia is beautiful this time of the year although their plants (because of our early spring) aren't that far ahead of us. We ate as much seafood as we could possibly consume a day and loved every minute. Jerry wanted to take some back roads this trip instead of all interstate and it made the trip LOTS prettier and more relaxed.
Took him two solid days to mow the yard when we got home (he loves it.) Was wonderful to see family and visit. And great to be home again, too.
DON'T FORGET FAMILY:
