Corn - gone

"The Boys" as we affectionately call them, completed harvesting the corn around the house today. They double teamed it with two combines and two tractors pulling wagons. Starting about 10 am and finishing a little after 5 pm.

Their luck held as far as the severe thunderstorm hitting out here. Radar showed it coming straight toward us and it was part just a little over this area of Henry County. The bottom picture shows it raining over Galva way about the time they were getting done. Lots of thunder but just a sprinkle now and again. They still have across the road but that seldom causes a lot of corn dust this far up the hill unless the wind is really blowing from the east.

Had debated about cleaning house today or working out in the front gardens. Needless to say, cleaning won when I saw the tractors pulling into the field. It was windy and debris was really blowing. At this point, a little sprinkle will settle that down nicely. Still have a thunder storm watch until 9 tonight. Better go let the dogs out of the garage - they're probably tired of crossing their legs.
