Family Labor Day Weekend

This is Harley and Dixie racing us when we walk.
The whole Hog Days thing is in Kewanee this weekend, but, we are heading to Hanna City for their Heritage Days. We've rather grown out of the whole Kewanee event and we'll meet up with Keitra's for our Bradley fix at noon today.

Karyl is coming in soon and it will be nice to visit with her and have her stay with us.

The Shenks are hosting family at their home in Batesville this weekend to meet their new exchange student from China. Wish we could have been there, but hope to make a swing down there on our way to Maggie Valley NC in Oct. It's been too long since I've seen them all.

Donnie couldn't play football last night because his knee is still tender from the injury a week ago, so he sat out the game. I'm sure Mid County would have won had he been playing! Kane had his first game this week, too. Ian is coaching 5-6 grade football this year and Marla has been working not only her shift but filling in on other shifts. They are one busy family - and tired. Grace spent some time with me Thursday evening while Marla chilled and the boys played cards. I found the old Barbie dolls and stuff that we had when Katie was little so that was a good portion of the evening. Aunt Sue, Paul, & Max got her one for her birthday and she's hooked. She also found a book she'd never seen (with fold outs) and we read it about twenty times. She likes to hear it until she has it memorized and then says it along with me.

Max and Kate are back in school, too. Need updates on all of them.

Got our family pictures back from the photographer and they are even better than I had hoped. Amazing to get one picture where everyone is looking at the camera, eyes open, and smiling. Hope to get some in the mail and Jerry will take the rest to Georgia when he goes next time.

Wasn't yesterday the first real FALL feeling day? So great. Jerry and I enjoyed our 2 1/4 walk more than the past couple of weeks of really hot. We're doing pretty study with the daily walking. Can't say we're making major changes but it has to help s o m e t h i n g!
