Par TEE

Susan and Paul hosted their first party last evening. Many of the long distance guests didn't come as it had been nasty in the afternoon. See the picture of the ice on the branches outside the house. By the time we went, the highways were pretty clear and it got warmer as we went south. The wind was knocking our car around pretty good. They still had a house full and everyone had a good time.

Carrie Ann (Craig) was there and we visited with her. Her step dad had cancer the same time as Jerry and his treatments were very hard on him, too. Carrie and Sue have been friends since we moved to Galva. Carrie, her husband Monte and son Rhett live in Macomb.

Craig Hawkins and Ian Johnson played the "background" music and it was enjoyed by everyone. Craig was from Bishop Hill as was Carrie Ann. Sue's friend, Celicia, and her husband were there and I hadn't see her in several years. Max was the coat check guy. Em and Mae came over and another couple brought their two kids. That was the end of coat check guy's help. Most were Paul's friends and they were friendly and nice to be around.

There were loads of homemade food (Paul and Sue both like to cook) and tasting everything was part of the fun. Nice evenng - first party was a success.
