Construction is over - almost - kinda

We came back from our mini vacation to find the basement wall completed and the soil back - almost - kinda. Then it rained last night. The pile of soil is to be used after the current fill settles. It will be too much since they removed the fruit shelf soil along with the outside soil.

It will take over a month to get some semblance of flat back. We must make sure the area drains away from the house - not easy when the back slants towards the house.
I plan to get it prepared with a good top soil and weed killer for the rest of the year until next spring. At that time, I will lay the stone and start the job of planting. Hopefully, this slow pace will allow the plot to be less work down the road. The area had been field clay and very compacted so this should help anything new.
The basement looks good and the last three inch rain showed not a drop of water nor any moisture along the north side. The whole reason for this project and it is finished perfectly. Tomorrow, we will start the process of putting things back together and away.
Considering there was a large end loader/scoop and a dump truck moving around on things, especially when you consider how much rain we had, the yard didn't take too much of a beating. Nice working with a professional who does his best to please. Nice, also, to have them gone!
